Sasquatch, more commonly known as Bigfoot, is a mythical beast that is rumored to lurk in the woods, most prevalently in the Pacific Northwest area of America. The legend of the creature is a widespread and enduring one, with many different cultures and regions around the world having their own unique traditions and beliefs about the creature. The European people who lived in the mountains believed that Bigfoot was a small, hairy man who lived in caves and subsisted on a diet of roots, berries and whatever small animals that are skittish enough to elude hunters. Stories often told of how the European people were able to trap Bigfoot in deep, tubular caves and then put him on display in their traveling sideshows. The mummified remains of a Bigfoot found on display in such a sideshow can be seen at the Museum of Osteology in Oklahoma City.
