Louisiana Teens Rescued After Alleged Bigfoot Encounter in Kisatchie National Forest

A group of teens had the scare of their lives during a camping trip in Louisiana’s Kisatchie National Forest. The group, consisting of recent high school graduates from Houma, called for help after encountering what they described as a growling Bigfoot with glowing eyes.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office (NPSO), the teenagers, aged 17 to 18, were deep within the forest on Back Bone Trail, about 1.5 miles from their starting point.

Their night took a spooky turn when one of them noticed a mysterious figure standing around 5 feet tall with glowing eyes, growling ominously. Panicked, they dialed emergency services.

Sheriff’s Deputies B. Remo and Cpl. D. Halliburton responded promptly to the distress call. Navigating the dense forest cautiously, they followed the sound of the teens’ whistle and found the group unharmed but visibly shaken. The deputies safely escorted the teens out of the forest.

Despite a thorough search, authorities couldn’t find any evidence of a creature matching the teens’ description. The NPSO later issued a statement congratulating the graduates and wishing them well, while also thanking them for visiting Natchitoches Parish and Kisatchie National Forest.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Kisatchie National Forest has been linked to Bigfoot sightings. Back in 2019, a Baton Rouge-based researcher discovered sticks arranged in an “X” pattern, which he claimed were typical markers left by Bigfoot.

While many on social media expressed skepticism, suggesting the glowing eyes could have been a reflection from a flashlight on local wildlife like a bear or a wild hog, others commended the teens for seeking help rather than trying to navigate the forest in distress. Some skeptics humorously speculated that the teens’ imaginations might have been fueled by substances.

The recent incident adds to a spate of reported Bigfoot sightings across the nation. Last October, a multi-state investigation was launched following a compelling sighting in Colorado.

This led to increased search efforts in states like Oklahoma and Indiana, where Sasquatch enthusiasts have reported finding massive footprints and hearing eerie howls in response to their calls.

Whether real or imagined, these encounters keep the legend of Bigfoot alive, sparking debates and drawing interest from both skeptics and believers alike.
